Watching Jimmy by Nancy Hartry

Jimmy is not the same now. Ever since he "fell" off the swing in the park when he was with Uncle Ted, he can't do any of the things he used to do. There's only one person who knows what really happened. Carolyn saw everything while hiding in the top branch of a tree in the park. Carolyn saw Uncle Ted drive his car around and around the park, knocking Jimmy from one side of the backseat to the other, causing his head to bang into the side of the car. Jimmy is now permanently brain damaged. Carolyn is Jimmy's neighbor and best friend, growing up next door to him since they were just toddlers. She doesn't understand why Uncle Ted hates Jimmy so much and she is afraid of what would happen if she tells the truth. How can she deal with this horrible secret? This is a powerful story of courage, truth, friendship and family. Hard to put down.
