Gemma is a British teenager who, while in an airport with her parents is kidnapped by a young man named Ty and taken to the outback of Australia. The area is harsh and deserted and she is unable to escape. Ty has plans for her that the reader sees developing with increasing fear. Gemma must use every bit of strength, will and courage to withstand this torture of "love" that Ty has inflicted upon her. The unusual part of this story is that Ty is not a typical pedofile, or kidnapper. He claims he has been watching Gemma for many years and has been planning this new life with her to protect her and keep her from the harm of society. Over the course of her captivity, Gemma begins to see Ty in a new light, and begins to change her perspective. Has she seen something real, or has she fallen prey to something known as the "Stockholm Syndrome?"
