Wake by Lisa McMann Most people don't remember their own dreams, but Janie Hannagan remembers them. Ever since she was little, she has had the ability to slip into dreams that were not her own. The problem is that she doesn't know how to control it. Whenever someone falls asleep in study hall, she is sucked into their dream. She keeps this ability a secret- well, she does until her neighbor Cabel Strumheller sees- and remembers her- in one of his dreams. Now Janie is overloaded by her mixed feelings about Cabel, finding scholarships for college, and trying to handle her power. This is the first book of McMann's trilogy. At first the story was a little slow, but it soon picked up pace and my interest. The characters are lovable, and the dialogue is witty. It didn't have too much of a climax, but I'm sure there will be more to come in the next two books. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes science fiction or modern fantasy stories.-Amanda M.
