Among the Betrayed, by Margaret Peterson Haddix This is the third book of a series written by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is a page-turner that will leave you wondering what will happen next after every chapter you read. I started these books about a month ago and now I can't stop reading them. The books are about teenage children who are forced into hiding because they are the third born children in their families. This book is based on a futuristic setting of America where it is illegal to have more than two children because of a food crisis. Picture as you are reading, these 13-year-old kids running for their lives from a force known as the "Population Police." Imagine that you are forced to hide from every person in the entire world, and if you get caught, you will be killed. If you like action adventure and mystery books, you would like this series. When you read this you will be on the edge of your chair not wanting to stop. Personally, I liked these books because they were so suspenseful, and I hope I won't finish the series too soon. - Dan G
