I recently read the book “LIE”, by Caroline Bock. I thought it was such a good book, with an unusual plot. Skylar’s boyfriend Jimmy and his best friend Sean take their so called ‘hobby’ too far one night. They beat up Mexican’s to make the world a better place, and one night they beat up these two brothers on the side of the road. One of them ends up in the ICU, while the other brother manages to catch the license plate of Sean’s car and report them. Sean and Jimmy end up in jail, but Sean gets bailed out. Sean then gets offered a plea in exchange to testify against Jimmy. And Skylar was there that night, but only Jimmy, Sean, her best friend Lisa Marie, and her dad know she was. The police are still questioning her, and she doesn’t know how long she can keep up the lie.
