Scars by Cheryl Rainfield
Kendra is a fifteen-year-old girl who is struggling with many emotional traumas. Since the age of three her life has been filled with the horrific memories of being sexually abused until she was twelve. In order to take the pain away from her everyday life, and the unhappiness that consumers her on a daily basis, she cuts herself. This helps her relax and makes the memories go away. Once she meets Meghan, a girl at school, she finally starts to feel happy, but only when she is with Meghan. Throught the novel she struggles with the pain of remembering her abuser's identity, cutting, and wheterh or not she and Meghan are meant to be something more. I would recommend this book to freshman students and older.
