Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

Ray loves girls. He loves little girls. Especially little girls named Alice...

This is one of the most unsettling books I have ever read. The story tells of a pedophile who stalks little girls, kidnaps them and keeps them just until they mature into young women. He threatens to kill their families if they tell, or if they try to escape. They become completely disabled by his control over them, and each one dies a slow emotional death. We follow the story through the voice of the newest "Alice," who has been with Ray for five years. She has lost her will to live, and wonders why she is not dead. Through a series of gruesome events, we see how Alice comes back to life, realizes her own humanity and saves the life of Ray's next victim. It's not customary to tell the end of the story like this, but this one is so disturbing that it might be good for you to know that things are going to work out for this Alice.
